    in the sauce sounds like a good idea. i want to try a pizza with a meat sauce made with ground beef, mushrooms (eggplant might be a nice touch here) plus everything from the sauce in this recipe, and top it with a grated parmesan.

    While we were at the grocery the thought of topping with melongene crossed my mind.

    I might saute it with some herbs in olive oil before topping with it… as a matter of fact… it might make a nice addition to the sauce as well.
